Here's the culprit...a blasted "nearly spun" bearing. I had noticed that the oil pressure wasn't exactly stellar, but it did (barely) meet my minimum requirement for 10 psi per thousand RPM. On the morning this happened, runup pressure was reasonable, but it didn't stay that way for long!
Commentary for these photos will follow eventually, but for now I'm trying to get the plane back in the air, so it'll have to wait a while. I think you'll get the gist of it from the photos though. Clearancing and re-checking for interferences is the main concern, just as with buiding a large-bore Corvair. Attention to detail is critical...
